13 – 22 August. Information Technologies Summer School to Be Held
From 13 to 22 August on the basis of instructional materials developed for Teach-IT.net, an Information Technologies Summer School will be conducted. For the authors and organizers of the program this is not only an opportunity to raise the qualifications of educators of the Lviv Region in the field of information technologies but a real chance to assess the instructional potential of the method in practice and to prepare the ground for creating a Ukrainian version of the method.
The program of the School is based on the materials of modules 1 to 7 of Teach-IT.net, which have already been translated into the Ukrainian language. This anticipates work in small groups with computer programs of the Microsoft Office packet (Word, Excel, Power Point), search programs and spending time on the Internet (Internet Explorer), and communicator programs (servicing e-mail, text-, voice-, and video-communicators). The School is intended for teachers in this subject and education professionals, so special attention will be given to practical use of knowledge and skills in the field of information and communications technologies in instruction and self-education.
The lessons will be conducted by expert pedagogues, experienced trainers in teaching information and communications technologies:
Prof. Dr. Natalia Morze, prorector of the Agrarian Academy, expert in the educational programs of the Microsoft and Intel corporations, senior trainer. (Kyiv)

Teachers of this subject from middle schools in the city and region of Lviv are invited to participate. The School will be conducted in the computer laboratory of the Ukrainian Catholic Univerisity at the address: Lviv, Vul. Khutorivka, 35. Lessons will be held every day except Sunday from 10.00 to 15.00. Tuition cost: 20 hryvnias.
